Veterans Oasis Park is a combination of park land, lake, and wetlands/groundwater recharge basins. It has 4.5 miles of trails where you can hike, ride a bike, or meander while bird-watching.

Science buffs will also enjoy the park's Solar System Walk, is a series of concrete monuments that represent the significant objects in our solar system. The walk is a scale representation of the solar system's major objects. It is set up along a 2,500-foot pathway around the lake. The concrete monuments are spaced at distances relative to their scale in the solar system.

Hiking in San Tan Mountain Regional Park and Preserve offers more than 8 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Trails range from 1.1 miles to more than 5 miles, and range in difficulty from easy to strenuous.
