Chandler Museum

The Chandler Museum comprises the historic McCullough-Price House (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and a modern 10,000 sq ft facility serving as the primary museum space and an expansive courtyard. The museum is easily accessed from the 101 and 202 freeways across from Chandler Fashion Center mall in an area brimming with restaurants and entertainment - making it an easy outing.

Located a short drive from the museum, Tumbleweed Ranch features an up close and personal look at Chandler's agricultural origins with historic homes, 1900s grocery store, antique agricultural equipment and more. You’ll find Tumbleweed Park at the southwest corner of Tumbleweed Park.

If you cannot make an in-person visit, the museum’s online resource, ChandlerpediA, is a convenient way to learn about Chandler's culture, art, and history from wherever you choose.

What to Expect

A trip to the Chandler Museum campus is a rewarding, enriching time for the entire family. The museum’s modern architecture—a work of art itself—is a striking complement to the historic Pueblo Revival style of McCullough-Price House, which today functions as a cutting-edge archive and research site.

Outdoors, the sculpture Infinite Shade, a shade structure, helps cool the courtyard by day while lending a touch of magic by night with its multicolored light.

Each year, the Chandler Museum’s exhibit hall features six to eight exhibitions. These include museum-produced exhibits exploring Chandler’s history and nationally traveling exhibits that examine art, culture, and history.

The museum’s mission states it is an “interdisciplinary learning environment where the community comes together to share its stories, preserve its cultural heritage, and experience Chandler as a people and place.”

This mission comes to life through the museum's many public programs. Through intriguing educational programs, 3 to 5 years olds, youth and adults benefit from demonstrations, lectures, and activities. Examples include Art Tots, where the little ones learn about and make age-appropriate art and History Bites: Lunchtime Talks, where adults discover Chandler's rich history during 30-minute talks given by local experts and museum curators.

The museum hosts a book club, offers 45-minute docent-guided tours of the campus, a Stories Speakers Series for adults, and a play day for families where iconic games and toys are available.

Time Commitment

Depending on the speed at which you take in an exhibit, expect your Chandler Museum visit to last anywhere from one to several hours or more. Where one visitor may glance over an exhibit for 10 minutes, another could become absorbed for much longer.

If you are visiting the museum for a public program, please reference the official museum website so you can set aside the time needed.
