Treat Mom to All Kinds of Mother's Day Fun in Chandler
Looking for more ideas to celebrate your mom for Mother’s Day? Chocolates and flowers are always appreciated, but to really spoil the woman who puts the “M” in motherhood, spend a mom-centric day in Chandler. You can eat, shop, browse museums, and even create your own Crayon color. Here are some suggestions to plan a special itinerary for mom’s big day.
Activities to Enjoy with Mom in Chandler
Your mom is not one-dimensional and neither are the activities available in Chandler. Explore her creativity, the mother of all invention, at Burst of Butterflies, a painting and pottery studio. Craft your own masterpiece in different mediums including clay and canvas via open studio hours, or attend instructional classes for throwing and sculpting, glass fusing pendants and canvas painting. Crayola Experience is another expressive adventure where you and mom can discover the magic of color, art and technology via several interactive activities.
If mom is a history buff, the expansive Chandler Museum is a cultural gem with engaging, community-focused programs and forums, as well as world-class traveling exhibits. Another significant historical destination is the Arizona Railway Museum, which is dedicated to the railroads of Arizona and the Southwest and features locomotives listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
To test you and your mom’s ability to solve problems (not that you question this) take her to Escape the Room at Chandler Fashion Center. You have 60 minutes to conquer immersive games such as “Outbreak” in heart-racing escape experiences that will push everyone’s intellect and detective skills.
Shopping with Mom in Chandler
One word will always get your mother’s affection: Shopping. And Chandler is a retail paradise with options for everyone. For decor inspiration, head to Found by Domestic Bliss, a 9,000-square-foot showroom and lifestyle store at The Shoppes at Casa Paloma that focuses trendy furniture, lighting, artwork and accessories for the home.
If mom would rather visit the past, stop at Merchant Square Antique Marketplace, a cornucopia of vintage, new and handmade finds and treasures including old signs, furniture, clothes, collectibles, jewelry and records covering 58,000 square feet.
Perhaps your mom is more interested in earthly goods? Check out Greenhouse Gardens, an urban garden that specializes in seasonal vegetables, fruit and herbs grown without pesticides and chemicals sold at its Chandler farmer’s market every Saturday from 9 am to noon.
To find the perfect trinket to commemorate the day, make sure to stop at Sibley’s West, which sells souvenirs and gifts made by Arizona artists and vendors and has been a Downtown Chandler fixture for 11 years.
