Step Into These Must‑See Exhibits
The spotlight shines on locally produced and nationally traveling collections at the Chandler Museum. It then extends to interactive experiences at the nearby Tumbleweed Ranch, an authentic 1917 home that features tools, farm equipment, and immersive activities, such as corn grinding.
The exhibit “Pony Up! Cowgirls of Chandler” runs through November 2, 2025, and focuses on the women and girls who helped shape the city’s Western roots. Archival news articles, rodeo memorabilia, oral histories, and photography all contribute to a fuller picture of the region’s past.
Across town at Vision Gallery, two exhibitions are on view through August 16, 2025. “Creatures and Cosmos” presents a collection of artwork that blends science fiction with fine art, imagining alternate worlds, life forms, and cosmic landscapes. Alongside it, Germán Benincore’s “Red Dawn” installation explores humanity’s drive to colonize space through a thought-provoking display that questions the ethics, ambitions, and consequences of colonizing other planets.

At Vision Gallery, two exhibitions will open in August 2025. “Con cariño siempre” (August 9–November 8) by Arizona visual artist Ariana Enriquez presents an intimate showcase of the artist’s story-driven work, built around the symbolism of flora and fauna, that celebrates intergenerational love and cultural legacy. Enriquez, who has completed several murals in Chandler—including a notable piece along the Commonwealth Canal—draws from personal and cultural narratives to shape her distinctive artistic voice.
“So Fun! An Exploration of Maximalism” (August 23–November 2) dives into the joyful aesthetic of excess, using color, pattern, and repetition to explore identity, internet culture, and the deeper meaning behind the playful design. While details are still to be confirmed, both exhibitions may include opening receptions and opportunities to engage with the artists during gallery talks.
The Chandler Museum will open “Sonoran Shapes + Structures: Desert-Inspired Architecture and Design” on September 20, 2025. Running through February 1, 2026, the exhibition examines how the desert landscape has shaped visionary architecture, from Frank Lloyd Wright’s organic forms to Paolo Soleri’s bold innovations. The installation invites attendees to view the Sonoran environment as both a canvas and a collaborator.

The Chandler Museum features the permanent “Chandler: A Great Place to Grow” display, a presentation that traces the area’s transformation from its agricultural roots to a modern suburban community.
