Western Fun

Arizona was the heart of the Wild West, and you can experience your own Western adventure right here in Chandler!

Rawhide Western Town and Steakhouse creates a fun look at the past for kids. The 1880s-style steakhouse and saloon features authentic Western-style food including steaks, burgers and fries. And kids can hop on the 1880s-style Butterfield stagecoach, ride burros, board a train, and watch the Rawhide Roughriders' stunt show.

Each November the Chuck Wagon Cook-Off comes to Chandler. This unique culinary competition combines the tastes, smells, and sounds of the Old West.  Teams work from authentic 1880-style chuck wagons to cook 5 courses: bread, beans, meat, potatoes, and dessert.  Judges decide winners for the Chuck Wagon Cook-Off in each category, as well as best authentic wagon and best overall meal.

Nothing says western fun like horseback riding! Koli Equestrian Center, located in the heart of the Gila River Indian Reservation, offers miles of breathtaking scenery and horseback riding trails for you and your family to enjoy. Friendly, qualified wranglers can tell you about the beautiful desert surroundings while riding their well-trained horses. The Koli Equestrian Center offers 60-90 minute rides depending on the time of year.
