Tumbleweed Tree Lighting  - December

The Tumbleweed Tree Lighting has been a holiday tradition in Chandler since 1957. Starting with 1,500-2,000 tumbleweeds that decorate a 35-foot tall wire framed Christmas tree the tumbleweeds are sprayed with 25 gallons of white paint, 20 gallons of flame retardant and dusted with 65 pounds of glitter. Once covered with about 1,200 holiday lights, it is ready to be lit! The community festival draws about 12,000 residents each year to watch this magnificent event.

Ostrich Festival - March

The Ostrich Festival takes place at Tumbleweed Park for 3 days in March. Filled with music, entertainment and even a special "Kids Zone" just for kids, the event celebrates Chandler's unique heritage. There are ostrich races, concerts, and all kinds of food - even ostrich burgers!
