As soon as you pull into the parking lot, it is obvious Element Chandler Fashion Center is different from most hotels. Tesla and electric vehicle charging stations are readily accessible, hinting at the property’s commitment to conservation and sustainability, while a 16-foot sculpture of a desert hare named Lulu pays tribute to nature and the arts. Depending on the time of day, you may even see guests riding the hotel’s bicycles, just one of the amenities offered to promote health and wellness.

Inside, the difference is even more obvious. Large windows allow natural light to flood the neutral-toned lobby that looks more like it belongs to a calming, Zen-like spa than an extended stay hotel. That’s not by accident, says Megan Padish, the director of sales for Element Chandler Fashion Center. The Westin Hotels & Resorts property was designed so you don’t have to sacrifice your healthy lifestyle while on the road.

Comfortable, sustainable rooms

Nowhere is that commitment to your wellbeing more obvious than in the hotel’s 107 rooms. Each room has a Heavenly Bed® and a bright, spa-inspired bathroom with rainfall showerheads and all-natural bath amenities. An oversized desk with ergonomic chair makes working on the road easy while the all-in-one connectivity station, flat screen 32” flat-panel HDTV, and DVD player help you relax during your downtime.

The rooms come with several environment-friendly touches as well. Instead of bottled water, you’ll find a filtered water system and real glasses in your room, and to make conserving energy as simple as possible, you only have to touch one switch near the door to turn off all the lights as you leave (or on as you enter). A sensor system also automatically adjust the power and the air-conditioning based on whether you are in the room to further conserve energy.

With the exception of the standard one bedroom, which doesn’t have a stovetop, all rooms feature a full kitchen with Energy Star®-rated appliances, toaster, microwave, and coffee maker, so you can prepare a meal to eat in your room or to take downstairs to eat in the breakfast area or on the patio near the 8-foot deep, saline swimming pool. Some healthy meal options are available in the hotel’s store, aptly called Restore, but you can also order groceries from a local store through the front desk.

Free breakfast and other perks

There are plenty of reasons to choose Element Chandler Fashion Center over other local hotels when you are looking for a place to stay in Chandler, or in the Greater Phoenix area for that matter. One reason is Rise, the free breakfast offered just of the lobby. Unlike most free breakfasts, Rise focuses on healthy options such as vegan wraps, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, and smoothies. (Don’t worry—there are still a few sugary options available for those taking a break from healthy choices while on vacation.)

In the evening, don’t miss Relax, the evening reception held in the evenings from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., where you can sip beer, wine, and soda while enjoying healthy appetizers like hummus, trail mix, and chips and salsa. A local musician plays during Relax on Tuesday nights.

Pet lovers have yet another reason to choose Element Chandler Fashion Center. You can bring your dog (one dog, under 50 lbs., per room). Canine guests are greeted with water and treats at the hotel’s door and receive their own Heavenly® dog bed to use during their stay.

As an additional perk for everyone, the hotel has free parking, free Wi-Fi, and no hidden resort fees, and because Element is part of the Marriott-Starwood association, you can accumulate points for use at either brand in the future.

Onsite amenities

Keeping in line with its dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle on the road, Element offers guests a large exercise room with windows and a wide array of exercise equipment, including a Lifecycle exercise machine that charges your phone as you work. Padish says it’s one of the most popular pieces of equipment in the fitness center because it inspires you to work out just a little bit longer.

Element also has an intimate, 600-square-foot meeting room equipped with a white board, state-of-the-art A/V technology, and a big screen TV that local businesses often book for department meetings of up to 20 attendees. Out-of-town employees and contractors working at nearby Intel, Waymo, and similar tech companies appreciate the printer and fax machines in the business center.

Conveniently located

The hotel is conveniently located at the Chandler Fashion Center, minutes from the on-ramps for the 202 and the 101 freeways, making it easy to get the Valley’s top attractions, including the Phoenix Zoo and the Desert Botanical Garden. It’s also just a short, 25-minute drive to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

Looking for something to do in Chandler? Element is a 10-minute drive to Downtown Chandler where you can stroll along the colonnade, relax in Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, or grab a beer at SanTan Brewing Company. You’re also a short drive from Paseo Vista Recreation Area with its archery range, Frisbee golf course, dog park, playgrounds, and access to the Paseo Trail along the Consolidated Canal.
