Can you hear it? Can you feel the excitement building?

The Downtown Chandler Art Walk returns this Friday for a great evening showcasing local artists all displaying their works for purchase with live music and artist demonstrations around the historic square.

With over 50 local artisans participating at the juried Art Walk, the event is a great way to ease into the weekend as it is held the third Friday of the month, from 6-10 p.m. Visitors are invited to explore the historic square and the trellis lined walkways for a relaxing evening of fine art and fine craft featuring a variety of mediums including:

  • Painting
  • Photography
  • Jewelry
  • Glass Art
  • Sculptures
  • Pottery
  • Woodworking
  • Mixed Media
  • Metal Work
  • Home Accessories

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, this week's Art Walk will feature a latin flair with performances by Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ and live music by Rumba Mezcal.

Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ is a local, Chandler organization dedicated to Mexican folkloric dance - celebrating the traditional folk dance from various regions throughout Mexico. It is colorful, beautiful and engaging to watch this dance troupe in action.

Rumba Mezcal, a 4-piece band based in southern Arizona will provide wonderful music with their unique fusion of rumba, salsa and latin music - creating a very festive atmosphere!

Consider making an evening out of it and grab dinner at one of Chandler's award-winning restaurants or take in a show at ImprovMANIA - their Friday shows are at 7p.m. and 9 p.m.

The event is organized by the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership. For more information about the Art Walk, please visit www.downtownchandler.com.
